Jeff Milligan’s microair mix, just for you -
microair: our man jeff (milligan)
need we say more?
not so much so, but here it is anyway:
A DJ of the influential kind, this highly praised, adored and technical man breeds a body of work that only a life dedicated to music could. With productions, collaborations and re-compositions in blissful excess, Jeff Milligan’s talent and drive are already legend. Regarded by his contemporaries as one of the most technically talented DJs in the world, his impressive four turntable style transcends the restraints of a genre and solidifies his inspiring reputation. In productions for Traum (Germany), Force Lab (Germany) and +8 (Canada); in collaborations with Perlon’s Dimbiman (Germany), Boxer Recording’s Frank Martiniq (Germany), and Swayzak’s James Taylor (France); and in releasing those such as Akufen, Mike Shannon and Deadbeat on his record label Revolver Canada Recordings – Jeff brings [us!] excitement, and those famous four turntables, to microair.

microair – fresh from the joy of micro’s second anniversary at micropirates – the micro crew take their last big breath before summer truly ends. A breath where 700 square meters of outdoor terrace, high above shanghai, with a technically genius DJ, and a micro DJ collective, say farewell to the season and dear DJ micrometropolice. This SATURDAY 13TH OCTOBER, on the 34th floor at AIR BAR – the grand Jeff Milligan & his four turntables, and the micro DJ collective of Ben Huang, micrometropolice & tootekool - celebrate microair.

just imagine – all these guys on stage, jamming, djing, guitaring, singing, whichever. at the same time. – it worked, and that’s why it’s called FREAKLUB.
and then there was FREAKLUB
before we go on and indulge you with even more micro ‘mazements
, we’d like to take a moment to remember…
FREAKLUB.
we loved FREAKLUB. our micro director DJ tootekool birthed it into the world with his co-conspirator DJ micrometropolice.
every week, FREAKLUB fused the acoustic with the electronic. all sorts of great musicians, from Jazz Bassists to Djembe Longhairs, from Rock and Roll Crooners (Singers) to Punk-Jazz Pianists, were all brought together to jam with very electronic DJs in this weekly party fest.
all involved, a very talented graphic artist rbkes, hosts tootekool & micrometropolice, and the ever present VJ Exit[OS], joyfully slogged it out to become shanghai’s longest running club weekly yet (do correct me if i’m wrong, don’t think i am but).
here’s some youtube for you:
micropirates: we love guido
that’s Guido Prestigiovanni to you.
micropirates very own video installation artist.
see his blissful work at ELSEWHERE.TV, now.
his stop-start beauty in moments captured on SLR, sewn together into unexpected syncopated dreaming, really.
