Since may 2005 micro has been the premier minimal art platform in Shanghai, a base where forms of expression collaborate: live music & live performance, visual & acoustic, with a focus on minimal house/techno sound & culture.
The micro name has worked in collaboration with the varying identities of different venues at each event: locations from Clubs to Creative Spaces.

microshelter: the installation

without comments

we’ve spent days bargaining with electronic stall vendors, a lot of taxi time transporting strange tubing, and saying many “yes ok”(s) to random purchases of various green light lasers. :)

thanks to our installation artist Simon Husslein, for putting so much love into micro, with his first installation in China.

‘The Evil Twins’, Simon Husslein’s last exhibition in London. For more of his work check husslein.net.

P.S we got a bleep on SHANGHAIIST. check it.

microair: our man jeff (milligan)

need we say more?

not so much so, but here it is anyway:

A DJ of the influential kind, this highly praised, adored and technical man breeds a body of work that only a life dedicated to music could. With productions, collaborations and re-compositions in blissful excess, Jeff Milligan’s talent and drive are already legend. Regarded by his contemporaries as one of the most technically talented DJs in the world, his impressive four turntable style transcends the restraints of a genre and solidifies his inspiring reputation. In productions for Traum (Germany), Force Lab (Germany) and +8 (Canada); in collaborations with Perlon’s Dimbiman (Germany), Boxer Recording’s Frank Martiniq (Germany), and Swayzak’s James Taylor (France); and in releasing those such as Akufen, Mike Shannon and Deadbeat on his record label Revolver Canada Recordings – Jeff brings [us!] excitement, and those famous four turntables, to microair.
